Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.3.3.LI.1 - Classify various maintenance tasks as routine, periodic, etc.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define routine maintenance and periodic maintenance in their own words, giving at least two distinguishing features of each.
- Classify at least six given maintenance tasks as routine, periodic, or corrective, justifying each classification with a reason.
- Construct a flowchart that organises the different types of aircraft maintenance and their sub-categories.
- Explain why routine checks such as pre-flight inspections are performed more frequently than heavier periodic checks.
- Work respectfully in mixed-gender groups, sharing maintenance task cards and listening to divergent views before reaching a consensus on classification.

Experiential Learning: Learners visit an aircraft maintenance facility or watch video/ pictures to learn about maintenance activities. Learners take notes and share with the class. Others add to the presentation. Organise views using flowchart.
