Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.1.3.LI.2 - Classify and operate different types of machinery used in crop production.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Classify farm machinery into at least three major groups (land preparation, planting, and harvesting) with appropriate examples for each group.
Distinguish between farm tools, implements, and machines based on their power source and mode of operation.
Describe the operating procedure for at least two common types of farm machinery (e.g., tractor-drawn plough and a planter).
Demonstrate understanding of safety precautions required when operating farm machinery.
Justify the choice of a particular class of machinery for a given crop production task on a typical Ghanaian farm.
