Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.2.LI.2 - Discuss the role of nutrition (school feeding programme- SFP) in the academic work of learners.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain what the School Feeding Programme (SFP) is and list the foods commonly served under the programme in Ghana.
- Describe at least three ways that good nutrition from the SFP influences academic performance, such as concentration, memory, and school attendance.
- Discuss the relationship between breakfast (or lack of it) and a learner’s ability to learn in the morning hours.
- Evaluate both the benefits and the challenges of the SFP in Ghanaian schools using evidence and reasoned arguments.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-ability groups to debate the role of the SFP, presenting points and responding respectfully to counter-arguments.
