By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define professional behaviour in their own words, building on the concept of professionalism introduced in Week 11.
Identify at least five specific examples of professional behaviour expected of an engineer in the workplace.
Distinguish between professional and unprofessional behaviour when presented with workplace scenarios.
Explain the link between professional behaviour, ethical conduct, and an engineer’s responsibility to society.
Justify why punctuality, honesty, competence, and respect are considered core elements of professional behaviour.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

Initiating Talk for Learning: Through questions and answers, learners identify what professional behaviour is by giving examples. Fine-tune learners' understanding by explaining professional behaviour further.
Managing Talk for Learning: Use concept cartoons reflecting ethical/unethical behaviour and professional behaviour. Learners debate the difference between them and examine what constitutes ethical and professional behaviour.
