Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.1.3.LI.1 - Explain professionalism in engineering practice.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define professionalism in engineering practice in their own words, using at least three key characteristics.
- Identify examples of professional and unprofessional behaviour from case scenarios of civil and construction works in Ghana.
- Explain why professionalism is essential in engineering practice, giving at least two reasons connected to public safety and trust.
- Differentiate between a professional engineer and one who merely has engineering qualifications, citing observable behaviours.
- Participate in a moderated class discussion, respectfully sharing opinions and listening to diverse views on the quality of local construction works.
