Learning Objectives
Indicator: 1.1.4.LI.6 - Identify the types of basic skills in handball and apply them in a game handball (Shooting in handball).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name the different types of shooting in handball (standing or stationary shooting, jump shot, running or moving shot, and falling or dive shot).
- Explain the key technical points for executing an accurate handball shot, including grip, body positioning, and follow-through.
- Demonstrate a stationary shot at goal from a semi-circle position 10 metres away, using correct hand placement and arm swing.
- Demonstrate a moving or running shot at goal, coordinating the approach steps with the release of the ball.
- Apply the shooting skill in a small-sided handball game, making responsible decisions about when to shoot and respecting opponents and teammates.

Stationary shooting: In files facing a demarcated target, learners grip the ball and replicate the skill demonstrated to them standing still. Learners form semicircles 10 meters away from an improvised goal and practise shooting into the goals. Moving shooting: Learners practise shooting while moving. Assessment (1.1.4.AS.6): Level 2: Explain the execution of the different forms of shooting in handball. Level 3: Demonstrate how shooting is executed.
