By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Perform the Adowa dance with at least two of its characteristic steps, maintaining correct rhythm and posture.
- Execute all the essential steps of the Adowa dance in proper sequence to the beat of the drums.
- Integrate one modern dance movement pattern into the Adowa dance while preserving the traditional rhythm and structure.
- Explain how performing Adowa improves skill-related fitness components such as coordination, balance, and agility.
- Demonstrate collaboration and respect for diverse cultural expressions during group practice and performance.

Experiential learning: Encourage learners to research and watch videos on their chosen dance to aid their practice and to support the integration of a modern dance movement pattern into the chosen dance. Assessment (1.1.2.AS.4): Level 2: Perform the selected dance with at least two steps involved. Level 3: Perform the selected dance with all steps involved (formative). Level 3: Perform the selected dance with incorporated modern dance movement patterns Teaching and Learning Resources: - Online resources - Phones/laptops - Projectors - Drums - Castanet - Clappers - Costumes for the various traditional dances - Dance rooms or studio - Sound system and speakers. - Any other equipment found in the community fit for purpose.
