Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.5.5.1.1 - Show and list the uses of different plant parts for agricultural and non-agricultural purposes.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name at least five different plant parts (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits) and state one agricultural or non-agricultural use for each.
  2. Classify given plant parts under either agricultural purposes or non-agricultural purposes in a simple table.
  3. Describe, in their own words, how at least three specific plant parts are used for agricultural and non-agricultural purposes.
  4. List at least four agricultural uses of plant parts (such as planting, animal feed, tools, soil improvement) and four non-agricultural uses (such as herbal medicine, construction, artefacts, ceremonies).
  5. Sort items found around the school or home according to the plant part they come from and the purpose they serve.
