Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.5.3.2.1 - Explain the concept of industry and distinguish between modern and indigenous industries.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define the term “industry” using their own words and identify at least three examples of industries in their community.
- Classify given examples of businesses and production activities as either industries or non-industries, justifying their reasoning.
- Describe two key ways technology affects how industries produce goods.
- Compare indigenous and modern industries across at least four criteria, such as tools used, energy source, scale of production and skills required.
- Reach a reasoned conclusion about the strengths and weaknesses of both indigenous and modern industries based on evidence gathered in the lesson.
