Indicator: B9.2.4.2.1 - Describe and select appropriate feed for different domestic and commercial animals

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. compile a list of at least five feed types commonly consumed by domestic and commercial animals in their local environment
  2. compare and contrast the characteristics of feed for ruminants, monogastrics, and poultry
  3. identify named samples of feed and correctly match them to the three animal categories (ruminants, monogastrics, and poultry)
  4. select appropriate feed for a given animal by justifying their choice based on the animal’s digestive system
