Indicator: B9.2.3.2.1 - Observe and record the uses of different crops at different maturity stages.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Observe and identify at least three different crops at different maturity stages in the school garden or nearby farm.
Record the physical features (colour, size, texture, firmness) that indicate the maturity stage of each crop observed.
Discuss and write the uses of each crop at each maturity stage (immature, mature, and over-mature).
Categorise at least five common crops by their maturity stage and their specific uses at that stage.
Explain, using evidence from observations, why some crops are harvested at one stage rather than another.

1. Discuss and write the uses of each maturity stage of each crop identified.
2. Categorise crops by their different maturity stages and uses.
