Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.2.3.2.1 - Observe and record the uses of different crops at different maturity stages.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Observe and identify at least three different crops at different maturity stages in the school garden or nearby farm.
- Record the physical features (colour, size, texture, firmness) that indicate the maturity stage of each crop observed.
- Discuss and write the uses of each crop at each maturity stage (immature, mature, and over-mature).
- Categorise at least five common crops by their maturity stage and their specific uses at that stage.
- Explain, using evidence from observations, why some crops are harvested at one stage rather than another.
