Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.3.4.1.1 - Demonstrate how to care for and maintain kitchen essentials
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Classify kitchen essentials according to the materials from which they are made (aluminium, stainless steel, plastic, wood, ceramic, glass).
- Match appropriate cleaning agents and tools to each type of kitchen material, explaining why the match is suitable.
- Demonstrate step-by-step procedures for washing, cleaning and sterilising common kitchen essentials.
- Explain the consequences of using the wrong cleaning material on a kitchen item.
- Perform a complete care and maintenance routine on a given kitchen essential and present it for appraisal.
