Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.3.3.1.1 - Identify joining and assembling materials, tools and equipment used for making artefacts/products
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least three joining and assembling materials, tools or equipment used in each of five trade areas: food laboratory, sewing workshop, building site, wood workshop, and metal/plastic workshop.
- Match each joining tool or material to its correct trade area and describe its function in one sentence.
- Sketch and label at least three tools from different trade areas with accurate details, showing the main parts clearly.
- Classify joining and assembling items as either materials, tools, or equipment when given a mixed list of examples.
- Appraise their own and peers’ sketches using simple criteria such as accuracy of shape, clear labelling, and neatness.

Sketch and label some tools in each of the trade areas. 3. Display sketches for appraisal.
