By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define smart materials and modern materials in their own words and give at least two distinguishing features of each.
Identify at least five industries in Ghana where smart and modern materials are used, giving a specific example for each.
Search for products made from smart and modern materials using ICT tools (mobile phones, school computers) and other sources such as product labels and newspapers.
Classify given products under the correct smart or modern material category and justify their choice.
Discuss the benefits and possible challenges of using smart and modern materials in everyday life.
