Indicator: B8.2.2.1.2 - Describe the properties of building materials

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Describe at least three properties each of cement, sand, and stones as building materials.
  2. Explain why cement is chosen to bind aggregates such as sand and stone in mortar and concrete.
  3. Justify the choice of a specific building material for a given construction purpose based on its properties.
  4. Prepare a chart showing the properties of cement, sand, and stones for appraisal.
  5. Present their chart to the class, explaining ideas in a clear order with relevant details.
