Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.2.3.2.1 - Apply movement concepts, principles and strategies in performing beginning level stick and ball sports (e.g., cricket, tsasikele, softball, baseball, and rounders)
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Demonstrate the correct grip and stance for holding a bat or stick in at least two stick and ball sports (cricket and softball).
- Apply the movement concepts of space and relationship to position themselves appropriately when batting, bowling, and fielding in a small-group stick and ball game.
- Apply the principles of progression and specificity by practising short-distance bowling and hitting with adapted equipment before moving to longer distances.
- Create and organise a mini rounders or softball game using adapted rules, then record their individual performance (runs scored, catches taken) in a self-journal.
- Work collaboratively in a mixed-ability team, using communication to agree on batting order and fielding positions while resolving disagreements constructively.
