Learning Objectives
Indicator: B7.1.2.2.3 - Create and solve story problems involving decimals on the four basic operations.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the correct operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division) needed to solve a story problem involving decimals.
- Solve at least two-step word problems involving decimals using the four basic operations with accuracy.
- Extract and organise decimal data presented in a table to answer questions requiring addition, subtraction, or multiplication.
- Create their own original story problems involving decimals set in familiar situations, and provide correct solutions to them.
- Justify their choice of operation in a word problem by explaining the meaning of the numbers in the story context.
