By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three different types of interactions (predation, competition, and mutualism) that occur within an ecosystem.
- Observe an outdoor ecosystem and record at least two examples of living things interacting with each other.
- Explain how human activities such as hunting, farming, and pollution affect the balance of an ecosystem.
- Design a simple diagram of an ecosystem showing at least three interactions among the organisms present.
- Discuss how changes in one part of an ecosystem can affect humans and other living things.

- Show learners pictures of different ecosystems. - Learners observe different ecosystems in the field such as a small bush or pond. - Engage learners to brainstorm to come out with possible interactions that occur in the given ecosystem. - Learners work in groups to draw or design different ecosystems in the classroom. - Learners observe each of the ecosystems and identify some possible interactions that can take place within each ecosystem they have designed. - Guide learners to discuss the effects of interactions (hunting, farming and predation) on humans and other living things within a given ecosystem.
