Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.2.2.1.2

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State the stages of the life cycle of a maize or okra plant in the correct order.
  2. Plant viable maize and okra seeds correctly and identify the conditions needed for germination.
  3. Observe growing plants weekly and record visible changes (height, leaf number, colour, flowering, fruiting) using a simple recording table.
  4. Distinguish between the seedling, vegetative, flowering and fruiting stages of the plant.
  5. Write a short report describing the changes observed from seed to seed production.
