By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Add positive and negative integers using a number line, including cases where both numbers are negative.
Add positive and negative integers without a number line by applying the rules for like and unlike signs.
Subtract a positive integer from a negative integer using a number line and by counting backwards.
Solve simple word problems involving addition and subtraction of integers in real-life situations.
Justify their answers by explaining the steps they used when solving integer problems.
