Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

- Guide learners through simple activities to identify effects of heat on substances (use liquids and solids, e.g. water, shea butter, candles, etc.).
- Learners demonstrate evaporation by boiling water and discuss their experiences.
Note: let learners measure the quantity of the water before and after boiling to show the effect of heat on water.
- Elaborate on learners' ideas to explain how the escaping vapour can be changed into water (through the loss of heat).
