Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

E.g. 1 Factors represent the numbers that we can multiply to get a bigger number called the product or multiple. Since 12 = 4 × 3 , we can say 4 and 3 are factors of 12; and 12 is a multiple of 3 or a multiple of 4. Break given multiples into factors and pairs of factors of given numbers.

E.g. 2 Investigate even and odd numbers.
E.g. 3 Investigate numbers that are multiples of 2, 3, 4 and 5. How do you know a number is a multiple of 2? a multiple of 3? a multiple of 4? and a multiple of 5? (This is also known as the divisibility test).
