Indicator: B1.1.1.1.2 - Identify numbers in different positions around a given number (0 - 100)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the numbers that come before, after, and between a given number on a 0 to 100 number grid.
Locate numbers in positions above and below a given number on a number grid.
State the position of a number relative to another number (e.g., “34 is two steps after 32”).
Use position language such as “before”, “after”, “between”, “above”, and “below” correctly when describing numbers.
Work in small groups to find and explain numbers in different positions around a chosen central number.

E.g. 1. Display a number chart with numbers multiples of say 4 between 0 and 100 and have learners identify numbers in different positions around a given number. Put learners in convenient groups and give each group a number grid and have them identify numbers in different positions around a chosen number.
