Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.4.9.1.1 - Select a topic of choice on a national issue or from different learning areas, brainstorm ideas and organize them before writing

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Select a suitable topic on a national issue or from another learning area (such as Science, Social Studies, or Religious and Moral Education) that interests them.
  2. Brainstorm and list at least eight to ten ideas related to their chosen topic with a partner.
  3. Sort their brainstormed ideas into categories (for example, causes, effects, solutions) using a simple chart or graphic organiser.
  4. Create a clear writing plan, using an outline or line diagram, that arranges their main ideas in the order they will write about them.
  5. Present and explain their writing plan to a partner, justifying why they grouped or ordered their ideas in that way.
