By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Turn organised ideas from their community topic into a two-paragraph draft without stopping to fix spelling, punctuation or grammar.
Use at least three linking words such as firstly, then, after, next and finally to connect sentences within a paragraph.
Use a linking phrase at the start of the second paragraph (e.g. after that, in addition, later) to show the relationship between the two paragraphs.
Read their own draft aloud to check that the flow of ideas is clear and not confusing to a listener.
Identify where a linking word is missing in a sample paragraph and suggest an appropriate one to improve cohesion.
