Indicator: B4.1.1.1.1 - Explain the importance of studying the history of Ghana.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain in their own words what history is and state at least two reasons why we study the history of Ghana
- Describe how knowing Ghana’s history helps define their identity as Ghanaians
- Give at least one example of how history teaches customs, values and traditions that help our nation survive
- Demonstrate through role-play how history promotes national pride, patriotism and national integration
- Identify and discuss at least one way history connects them to their ethnic group and to other Ghanaians
