Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.6.2.1.5 - Recognise Uniform Resource Locators (URLs).
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) and explain what it is used for in a web browser.
- Identify the three main parts of a typical URL (protocol, domain name, and path).
- Locate where a URL is displayed in a web browser, which is the address window learned in Week 9.
- Recognise common domain name endings such as .com, .org, .gov, .gh, and explain what they suggest about the website.
- Practise typing URLs correctly into the address bar of a browser, including checking for spelling accuracy.
