Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.6.2.1.2 - Recognise the status bar and list its use.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the status bar in a browser window and point to it accurately.
  2. State at least three functions of the status bar in a web browser.
  3. Explain what information the status bar displays when a page is loading or when hovering over a link.
  4. Distinguish the status bar from other parts of the browser window, such as the address bar and the menu bar.
  5. Use the status bar to check the destination of a link before clicking on it.

Bring a picture of a window that has the status bar and ask the learners to point out the status and mention its functions
