Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.2.LI.1 - Explain the terminologies associated with spherical mirrors

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define concave mirror and convex mirror and identify each by its reflecting surface shape.
  2. State the meaning of the pole, centre of curvature, principal axis, and radius of curvature of a spherical mirror with reference to a labelled diagram.
  3. Define the principal focus and focal length for both concave and convex mirrors, noting how they differ between converging and diverging mirrors.
  4. Use correct terminology to label a diagram of a spherical mirror, identifying at least five key terms accurately.
  5. Research and present findings on at least three spherical mirror terms using reference materials or digital sources, demonstrating digital literacy and collaboration.
