Indicator: B8.3.3.1.1 - Use vocabulary appropriately in speaking and writing

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify synonyms and antonyms of given words and use them correctly in sentences.
  2. Complete analogies by recognising the relationship between word pairs.
  3. Distinguish between the denotation (literal meaning) and connotation (emotional association) of words with similar meanings.
  4. Select words with the appropriate connotation for a given speaking or writing context.
  5. Compose a short paragraph or dialogue that demonstrates the correct use of word relationships and connotation.
