Indicator: B8.3.3.1.1 - Use vocabulary appropriately in speaking and writing
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify synonyms and antonyms of given words and use them correctly in sentences.
- Complete analogies by recognising the relationship between word pairs.
- Distinguish between the denotation (literal meaning) and connotation (emotional association) of words with similar meanings.
- Select words with the appropriate connotation for a given speaking or writing context.
- Compose a short paragraph or dialogue that demonstrates the correct use of word relationships and connotation.
