Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
- Learners construct simple sentences. - Write some of the sentences on the board to guide the discussions on subjects and verbs. - Show a large poster of people doing various activities. - Assign learners to build a paragraph on the picture paying attention to subject and predicate. They use a line to divide each sentence into the subject and predicate. - The groups edit and publish the work. Each member keeps a copy.
