Indicator: B3.5.2.1.3 - Identify and use the apostrophe to show possession
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the apostrophe in given sentences and explain that it shows ownership or possession.
- Use an apostrophe followed by “s” (‘s) to show that something belongs to a person or animal.
- Write short sentences of their own using the apostrophe of possession correctly.
- Differentiate between a singular owner (add ‘s) and the correct placement of the apostrophe in common singular nouns.
- Apply the apostrophe to show possession in a short written piece about their family or friends.
