Indicator: B3.5.1.1.1 - Use capital letters to write initials and abbreviations

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define initials and abbreviations in their own words with at least two examples of each.
  2. Identify initials and abbreviations in given sentences and short texts.
  3. Write the full names that match given initials and abbreviations, such as WHO and K. S. Manu.
  4. Rewrite a short text, replacing full names of people and organisations with the correct initials and abbreviations.
  5. Use capital letters correctly when writing their own initials and common abbreviations.

- Provide learners with sentences or texts containing initials and abbreviations for them to identify.
e. g. WHO - World Health Organisation; K. S. Manu - Kofi Sakyi Manu
- Give texts having full names of people and organisations.
