Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.5.4.1.3 - Use simple past and the past continuous forms of verbs to express past actions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the simple past form of regular verbs (adding -ed) and common irregular verbs (went, saw, ate, came) in spoken and written sentences.
- Form the past continuous tense using was/were + verb + -ing to describe actions that were in progress in the past.
- Distinguish between the simple past (completed action) and the past continuous (ongoing action in the past) in given sentences.
- Use both simple past and past continuous forms correctly in their own sentences about past events and activities.
- Complete a short written passage about a past event, choosing the correct past tense form for each verb.
