Learning Objectives
Indicator: K2.6.7.1.3 - Use a variety of new vocabulary learnt about soil to create an informational text for reading using LEA
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Recall and use at least 6 new vocabulary words about soil and gardening (e.g., soil, sand, clay, loam, dig, water, plant, grow) in a shared conversation.
- Dictate sentences about soil and gardening to the teacher as a group, contributing at least one sentence each during the Language Experience Approach (LEA) process.
- Read the shared informational text created by the class, pointing to words as they read along with the teacher.
- Identify and name items that are made from soil, such as clay pots, bricks, and water pots (barewa), and mention at least two of these to add to the text.
- Draw one item made from soil and describe it to a partner using simple vocabulary from the text.
