Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.6.7.1.3 - Use a variety of new vocabulary learnt about soil to create an informational text for reading using LEA

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Recall and use at least 6 new vocabulary words about soil and gardening (e.g., soil, sand, clay, loam, dig, water, plant, grow) in a shared conversation.
Dictate sentences about soil and gardening to the teacher as a group, contributing at least one sentence each during the Language Experience Approach (LEA) process.
Read the shared informational text created by the class, pointing to words as they read along with the teacher.
Identify and name items that are made from soil, such as clay pots, bricks, and water pots (barewa), and mention at least two of these to add to the text.
Draw one item made from soil and describe it to a partner using simple vocabulary from the text.
