Learning Objectives

Indicator: K2.2.1.1.4 - Identify the letter-sound learnt for the week in words related to the theme and write the letter and key word boldly and legibly in their books.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Say the letter-sound for the week (e.g., “m” as in “mother” and “f” as in “father”) correctly when shown the letter card.
  2. Identify the weekly letter-sound at the beginning of at least three family-related words (e.g., mother, father, sister).
  3. Trace and write the weekly letter boldly and legibly in their exercise books, using the correct formation (top to bottom, left to right).
  4. Write the key family word for the week (e.g., “mother” or “father”) clearly under the letter, matching the teacher’s model.
  5. Point to words in a simple family-themed chart that begin with the weekly letter-sound when asked by the teacher.
