Indicator: 2.2.2.LI.1 - Discuss the principles of training for sports performance
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define training principles and explain why they are essential for sports performance.
- State and describe at least six key principles of training (Specificity, Overload, Progression, Reversibility, Variation, and Rest and Recovery).
- Discuss how each principle is applied in a practical training programme using local sporting examples.
- Collaborate in groups to discuss training principles, record their points, and present their findings to the class, respecting contributions from others.
