Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.2.2.LI.2 - Apply the principles of training for sports performance
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Apply the FITT principle (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) to design a weekly training programme for a chosen sport.
- Apply the principle of specificity by matching training activities to the specific demands of a given sport.
- Apply the principle of progressive overload by adjusting training variables (sets, reps, duration, resistance) to show safe progression.
- Apply the principles of reversibility, variation, and rest and recovery when modifying a training programme for a given scenario.
- Justify, in writing or orally, how each principle of training is reflected in a personal training plan for a sport of their choice.
