Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.1 - Analyse antique artworks made in single materials and propose new ways of making such works as mixed media representations.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three antique Ghanaian artworks created in single materials and describe the original material and method used in each.
- Analyse the visual, functional and cultural qualities of a selected antique artwork, stating at least two reasons why a reinvention in mixed media would be valuable.
- Propose a concrete mixed media reinvention of an antique artwork, specifying which new materials would combine with (or replace) the original single material and why.
- Present a reinvention proposal orally to the class, explaining the material choices, the anticipated challenges and the intended effect of the mixed media approach.
- Reflect on a peer’s reinvention proposal and offer one constructive suggestion for improving it, using respectful and supportive language.
