Learning Objectives

Indicator: B6.2.1.1.2 - Study how the artworks of the international performing artists studied reflect the history and culture of some communities in the world and generate own ideas for creating own performing artworks.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and describe how the history and culture of a community are shown in at least one international performing artwork studied in Week 5.
  2. Analyse the key performance elements (musicality, movement patterns, costume, rhythm, speed, energy, space) in a selected international performing artwork and explain how they connect to the community’s history or culture.
  3. Brainstorm and record at least three original ideas for a short performing artwork that reflects the history or culture of a specific community, using the performance elements studied.
  4. Present one chosen idea to a partner or small group, clearly explaining which community’s history or culture it reflects and which performance elements will be used.
  5. Give and receive simple, kind feedback on performance ideas and revise their own idea based on the feedback received.

- use the information gained to generate ideas for own artworks that will reflect the history and culture of some communities in the world.
