Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.3.2.LI.3 - Identify the various therapeutic devices used by the therapist.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least ten therapeutic devices by name and state the form of therapy each device supports (e.g., physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, dialysis).
Group therapeutic devices into categories based on their function: diagnostic-support devices, treatment devices, rehabilitation devices, and life-support devices.
Describe how a minimum of four specific therapeutic devices work during therapy, using a patient scenario.
Explain the safety precautions a therapist must observe when using any two therapeutic devices.
Justify the choice of a specific therapeutic device for a given patient condition presented in a case scenario.
