Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.3.2.LI.2 - Investigate who a therapist is and enumerate the various specialties.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define who a therapist is in their own words and distinguish a therapist from other health workers such as nurses and doctors.
  2. Enumerate at least six different therapy specialties and state the main role of each specialty.
  3. Describe the typical work schedule and professional duties of at least one therapy specialty.
  4. Investigate the educational pathway and personal qualities required to become a therapist in Ghana.
  5. Justify which therapy specialty they might consider pursuing based on their interests and skills, using evidence from the lesson.
