Learning Objectives
Indicator: B6.6.1.1.1 - Describe the events leading to the emergence of the Fourth Republic.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Narrate the sequence of key events leading to the Fourth Republic, including the drawing of a new constitution, the referendum, the lifting of the ban on political parties, and the 1992 general elections, in chronological order.
- Explain the significance of at least two of these events in returning Ghana to constitutional rule.
- List the four Presidents of the Fourth Republic and state their dates of tenure.
- Identify the current President of the Fourth Republic and describe one major event from his inauguration that they have witnessed on television or in person.
- Use basic evidence from provided sources to support a discussion about the transition from military rule to the Fourth Republic.

Show and discuss a documentary on the inauguration of a new President of Ghana. 5. Learners recount an inauguration they have witnessed or seen on Television. 6. Discuss other key figures in the fourth Republic (e.g. Chief Justices, Speakers of Parliament, Vice Presidents etc.)
