By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Sequence the major events between 1988 and 1992 that led to the establishment of the Fourth Republic, in the correct chronological order.
Explain the purpose and outcome of the 1988-1989 district assembly elections in the transition process.
Describe the roles of the Committee of Experts and the Consultative Assembly in drafting the 1992 Constitution.
Analyse the significance of the 28th April 1992 referendum and the lifting of the ban on politics.
Identify the political parties that contested the 1992 general elections and state the outcome of that election.
