Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.1.2.1.6 - Colour an outline of a part of the body used in performing a function.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and name the part of the body shown in an outline drawing (for example, legs, hands, ears, eyes).
  2. Colour an outline drawing of a body part, staying within the lines as much as possible.
  3. Say what function is performed by the body part they have coloured (for example, “legs help us walk”, “hands help us carry things”).
  4. Talk about their coloured artwork with a friend, describing what the illustration shows and what the body part does.
  5. Match a coloured outline of a body part to the action it performs with help from pictures or teacher prompts.
