Learning Objectives

Indicator: K1.1.2.1.3 - Learn and use new vocabulary related to what they do with the parts of the body

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least five action words (verbs) that describe what body parts do, such as clap, stomp, blink, sniff, and hop.
  2. Match a body part to the action it performs when the teacher calls out the action word.
  3. Use a new action word in a short sentence to describe what they are doing, for example, “I am clapping.”
  4. Sing an action song and perform the correct movement for each body part mentioned in the song.
  5. Respond to instructions that use action vocabulary, such as “touch your nose” or “shake your shoulders.”
