Indicator: 3.4.1.LI.2 - Discuss hereditary diseases in humans.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define a hereditary disease and distinguish it from an infectious disease using clear examples.
Explain the inheritance pattern of at least two hereditary diseases common in Ghana, namely sickle cell disease and haemophilia.
Describe the symptoms, causes and basic genetic basis of diabetes, and cleft lip and palate.
Discuss how knowing family medical history can help individuals make informed decisions about their health.
Evaluate different sources of information about hereditary diseases for reliability and communicate findings respectfully with peers.
