Learning Objectives
Indicator: B3.1.2.1.1 - Demonstrate ways to care for the environment.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain what the environment is and give at least three examples of things found in it.
- Identify and describe at least four ways of caring for the environment, such as tree planting, proper waste disposal, clean-up exercises, and avoiding pollution.
- Demonstrate proper waste disposal by sorting and placing rubbish in the correct bins during a class activity.
- Participate actively in a clean-up exercise and report what was done and why it matters.
- Draw and colour a picture showing one way of caring for the environment and present it to the class.

- Use questions and answers for learners to explain the environment. - Using Think-Pair-Share, let learners talk about ways of caring for the environment through: tree planting, proper disposal of waste, legal mining, clean-up exercises, avoiding environmental pollution, etc. - Let learners organise and do clean-up exercises in the school environment. - Let learners draw and colour activities of caring for the environment. - Guide learners in groups to do a project on: clearing a rubbish dump, planting trees, checking erosion, clearing choked gutters, etc. - Let learners present their work in class for appreciation and discussion.
