Indicator: B8.1.1.1.1 - Discuss the creation stories of the three main religions in Ghana
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Narrate the basic elements of the Christian creation story as recorded in Genesis chapter 1.
- Describe the key ideas in the Islamic creation story as found in the referenced Qur’anic passages.
- Recount at least one Indigenous African creation story from their own community or a Ghanaian ethnic group.
- Identify the similarities and differences among the three creation stories through group discussion and dramatisation.
- Work effectively in groups to plan and present a short dramatisation of one creation story, showing respect for all religious traditions.

Give account of the creation stories in the various religions • Christianity o Read the creation story as found in the Bible (Genesis chapter 1) • Islam o Read the creation story as found in Qur'an 2:164, Qur'an 3:190-191; Qur'an 10:3-4 • Indigenous African Religion o Narrate from the oral traditions, the creation stories of learners' indigenous society. For example, among the Akan, Ewe, Dagomba, Gonja, Kasem, etc. In three groups, learners dramatise their own interpretation of the creation stories.
