By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the key features of notices and posters, including purpose, audience, and layout.
  2. Design a notice for a school-related purpose, such as a voluntary cleaning exercise, using the appropriate format and conventions.
  3. Create a poster for a specific audience, such as a school excursion announcement, with clear headings, illustrations, and persuasive language.
  4. Edit and proofread their own notices and posters for sense, meaning, and emotional effect.
  5. Present their completed notices and posters to peers, explaining the choices they made for purpose and audience.

- Write notices/posters of different lengths for different purposes and audiences, using appropriate forms, conventions, and techniques (posters on a school excursion, notices on voluntary cleaning etc.)
- Edit/Proofread the writing for sense or meaning, and effect (emotional reaction).
- Record/represent writing in a flow chart and illustrations and other design packages including ICT.
